DURA ACE (FD-R9250)
The Shimano DURA ACE front derailleur represents the pinnacle of Shimano's front derailleur lineup. This is Shimano's lightest and fastest shifting front derailleur weighing only 96g. It features all of Shimano's cutting edge technology and is powered by a battery mounted in the frame. A power cable is needed to power this unit.
ULTEGRA (FD-R8150)
The Shimano Ultegra Front Derailleur benefits from technology that was developed for the Dura Ace lineup. This results in fast shifting with digital precision. This unit features all of Shimano's auto adjusting tech to make sure the front derailleur is never in the way. This wireless shifter does feature a power cable. On average this front derailleur weighs 110g.
105 (FD-R7150)
The Shimano 105 front derailleur is Shimano's most inexpensive option for electronic shifting. 105 benefits from trickle down technology from the Dura Ace and Ultegra product line to provide great shifting at an even greater cost! This unit features Shimano's auto trim feature which means as the rear derailleur moves the front will auto adjust to ensure there is no rubbing. This does feature wireless shifting, but a power cable is routed from an internal battery to the derailleur. This unit weighs 142g on average.
SRAM
RED AXS
The SRAM RED AXS front derailleur is SRAMS top of the line front derailleur. The quick and precise shifting can be fine tuned by SRAM's AXS app making for easy adjustment and personalization. The RED front derailleur does not need to have trim due to SRAM's Yaw technology. This unit features a removable battery that mounts on the back of the derailleur. All of SRAM's AXS equipped components use the same type of battery. If one battery isn't charged you can swap them on the fly! This unit weighs 167g with battery installed.
FORCE AXS
The SRAM FORCE AXS front derailleur takes everything that was learned when SRAM developed the RED front derailleur and packages it in a more accessible package. It features SRAM's Yaw technology, eTap technology, and AXS technology. Yaw technology means that this front derailleur does not need any trim settings. eTap technology is SRAM's intuitive electronic shifting. AXS is a unique signal that you can pair to your phone and personalize with the SRAM AXS app! This front derailleur features a removable battery that is the same type of battery all SRAM units use. This front derailleur has an average weight of 176g with battery installed.
RIVAL AXS
The SRAM RIVAL AXS front derailleur benefits heavily from the trickle down of technology used in the SRAM RED and FORCE front derailleurs. It features all of the same technology as the FORCE and RED front derailleurs (Yaw, eTap, AXS) but is a fraction of the cost. This unit also features SRAM's removable battery to make life easier, and weighs on average 180g with battery installed.
